Saturday, September 10, 2005 at 06:28PM “And this is the snare of the devil, never to keep due proportion…”
~ From St. John Chrysostom, Homily #2 on the Gospel of John
This struck me hard when I read it because I had been thinking of something similar just previously, about how it is so easy for me to blow things all out of proportion. It is often not what I think or do per se that is sinful, but the importance I attach to it, the disproportionate worry, or embarrassment, or desire. The problem with so many thoughts is that we don’t relegate them to the place they deserve.
