Leaps and Bounds

Life in Orthodoxy seems to be all about learning, one huge thing after another. Maybe it’s that there are so many huge things to learn, maybe it’s a conducive “learning environment”, maybe it’s that Our Lord so badly wants us to come to know Him. Some days it’s like drinking from a fire hose. I am hard pressed to any make sense of it because it comes so fast, and because my existing framework of understanding is so inadequate. What does one do with huge, great truths that somehow don’t “fit”? And yet are the most fitting, wonderful truths there are? How did our world become so separated from this kind of knowing? Even the simplest, most basic things? One is left puzzling — and repenting — but delighted nonetheless. =)
