Mine Eyes Have Seen

The prayer of St. Simeon really got to me tonight at Vespers, along with our all-parish education dedicated to the upcoming feast of the Entrance of the Theotokos into the Temple.

For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
which thou hast prepared before the face of all people,
    a light unto the nations,
and the glory of thy people Israel.

Our eyes are seeing right now the preparation for the salvation for all people, light for all the nations, and the glory of God’s people — Jesus’ people — including Mary and Joseph and all his family.
